Ron brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from his time as a Pastor, Director of Missions, and other types of involvement in denominational life.
His calling and ordination to the ministry happened in 1958 at age 19 where he soon became the pastor at Rock Creek Baptist Church in Texas. Ron received his Masters in Biblical Theology at International Bible Seminary in Orlando. His church leadership experience includes being pastor at Southern Baptist churches in Alabama, Texas, Germany, North Dakota, and Missouri. Throughout these years of pastoring, he served churches in Alabama and Germany bi-vocationally while he was committed to the US Army from 1963-1987. In addition to church experience, Ron has an extensive denominational history. He has been the President of Pastor's Conference of Calhoun Baptist Association in Alabama, and held multiple leadership positions at the Dakota Southern Baptist Convention, including serving as Vice President and President. Ron brings wisdom and practical experience to CBBA's current focus: church health and revitalization. He is a certified trainer in "Total Church Life" (Evangelism and Discipleship), "Principles of Church Growth", and has been trained in NAMB's "Church Replant" initiative.
Ron and his wife, Betty, have been married for 44 years. All of their children are Christians and serving the Lord in the church where they are members.
